We are proud to introduce you to, Jason Thomas! Jason joined the Soren family mid last year and contributes to the growth of Soren as a Capacity Analyst Assitant. Matt Drennen, Division Manager and Jason’s superior explains perfectly why we value Jason so much: “Jason is a team player and does whatever is asked of him. He’s always looking to help in all situations. Having been a driver previously, Jason brings insight and knowledge the rest of us don’t have that helps in the day-to-day operations. He has learned quite a bit in the short time he has been with us.” Thank you, Jason, for being apart of our team! We appreciate you!
Here are some fun facts about Jason:
What brought you to Soren? The opportunity to help build and be a part of something great. I see a lot of opportunities with Soren for the future. Also to get a new experience in another level of this industry. I have been in transportation for more than 10 years and what we do here is all of interest to me.
How is Soren different than other companies you’ve worked for? I’ve been pretty blessed with good bosses and managers over the years, but I think the biggest difference would be the ways we make work fun.
The team atmosphere is definitely unlike anywhere I have been before. I have been accustomed to working autonomously. The amount that can be learned working here about the industry is something that cannot be learned in books. Overall, I enjoy coming to work every day.
Which Soren core value means the most to you and why?
I have more than 1.
You control your progression – encourages me to want to learn more to continue growth.
Teamwork Drives Our Success – makes me understand that what I do fits into the big picture no matter how small it may seem, I know it benefits my team.
Choose to be Proactive – the more I learn, the more I can apply myself. Anticipating what my team needs and getting it done before they ask for it creates a more productive flow. I want to be a part of my team’s achievements in every way possible as I grow with the position and the company.
Do you have any advice for new or potential Soren employees? Be flexible.
Tell us a little bit about your family… I have an amazing 12-year-old son named Hezekiah. He is without a doubt the best thing that ever came into my life.

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? Hard to say. There are so many great foods I love.
If you could meet anyone living or dead, who would it be? Music Producer James Yancey (J-Dilla). He is one of my biggest musical influences.
If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring? Scuba gear, surfboard, and my guitar.
People would be surprised if they knew…I am a musician. I played drums in a couple of different bands in Seattle and I also do music production. I have a small home sound studio (more of a hobby now). Also, I played baseball for 8 years.
